Jvne Melendez is unquestionably the "go-to" person in the organization. I like to think of him as the hub that connects the many spokes of our organizational wheel. We can rely on him to handle any issue promptly, and he has established himself as a key problem solver in the organization. I leverage his technical and analytical skills to influence our organization on a near daily basis. Among his many strengths is his ability to harness multiple information systems to facilitate data-driven decision making and solve organizational problems. A great example of this was when I needed to determine the root causes of flight cancellations. Jvne quickly applied data analysis skills, assembling a spreadsheet that queried multiple databases and output the data as an easy-to-read visualization. This valuable tool allowed us to modify outdated organizational processes, which led to vastly improved accountability and efficiency. A second example was when Jvne singlehandedly overhauled our aviator information passdown file from an analog to a digital format, effectively creating a new format that eliminated the need for briefing officers to sift through mountains of data to determine whether a crewmember met all of the required qualifications for flight. This new "one-stop shop" solution illustrated how he could not only solve the original problem, but create an entirely innovative new product that exceeded the original requirements. In short, our organization is greatly indebted to Jvne's dedication to solving problems.
